Polycystic ovary syndrome is a hormonal disorder seen in women of reproductive age, involving infrequent, irregular or prolonged menstrual periods, and often excess male hormone (androgen) levels. The ovaries develop numerous small collections of fluid — called follicles — and may fail to regularly release eggs. Women with PCOS often experience issues with hormonal imbalances, metabolism and, as a result, weight gain.
Weight gain, acne, male pattern baldness and skin hyperpigmentation are some of the cosmetic outcomes of PCOS.
Along with proper treatment with medication and cosmetic procures and diet all these harmful effects of the syndrome can be effectively managed.
